Safety First For Travelers

Associated Press

A few new gadgets on the market appeal to travelers who have security in mind.

From the Magellan’s spring catalog, there are three items worth noting.

Flite-Tight, $5.85, which wraps snuggly around hard-sided luggage and must be cut before the bag is opened, is not re-usable but it’s supposed to discourage anyone from riffling through your belongings at airports and hotels.

Jammer, $7.85, sticks to the inside of the sliding door of a train compartment or a hotel sliding glass door and prevents an intruder from forcing open the door.

The Motion Detector, $19.95, sits on a table top, pointed at your hotel room door and sounds a warning - adjustable for a shrieking alarm or pleasant ding-dong chime.
