State Farm Agents Receive High Honors

Five Spokane State Farm agents were awarded the Bronze Tablet award, one of the company’s most prestigious honors. The agents were recognized as recipients of the company’s prestigious Legion of Honor award for five consecutive years. That award is earned by writing and maintaining a high quality book of business.

The agents are: Michael Boutz Jr., Jim Gyarfas, Mike Boutz Sr., Kit Brennick, and Bill Farley.

Sterling Saving recently honored two managers for outstanding contributions.

Carla Scott, manager of Sterling Saving’s NorthTown Branch, received the Hometown Helpful Award for achievement in customer service.

Kellie Yates, assistant vice president/consumer loans, received the Sterling Pride Award given to the person who best exemplifies Sterling’s ideals and commitment to excellence.

Deborah Kemp has been named the top Idaho sales associate and one of the RE/MAX Pacific Northwest Region’s “Top Ten” sales associates for March 1995. She is employed with RE/MAX Preferred Realtors in Coeur d’Alene.

Dan McKay, a participant in Class XVII of the Washington Agriculture and Forestry Leadership Program, has been named the second recipient of the Jack Felgenhauer Leadership Fellowship. McKay, a wheat producer in Almira, will participate in the program for the next two years, with support provided by the fellowship.

Everett Martin, a Washington State University animal scientist, was named 1994 Researcher of the Year by Nalley’s Fine Foods. The award, for excellence in research on meat processing technology, includes a research grant of $1,000 and a plaque. Martin has been on the WSU faculty since 1970.

Cleo Clizer, Spokane, is the recipient of the 1995 Home Economist of the Year award from the Washington Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. She has been employed as a member of the Professional-Technical Education Department for Spokane Public Schools since 1983. Clizer develops curriculum and supervises the required eighth-grade Life Skills program, Home and Family Life Useful and Gainful programs, Horticulture and Natural Resources programs and Business and Diversified Occupations Cooperative Education programs.

Scott Ayers, sophomore at Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Va., earned honor roll status for the winter term. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ayers, Spokane.
