Nelson Interested In Knicks Job

Compiled From Wire Services

The New York Knicks, looking for a coach to replace Pat Riley, met with Don Nelson, and his lawyer says he’s interested in the job, The New York Times reported.

The newspaper said Knicks general manager Ernie Grunfeld spoke in Milwaukee with Nelson, the former coach of Milwaukee and Golden State.

The Knicks also are reportedly interested in speaking with former Detroit and New Jersey coach Chuck Daly about the opening.

Nelson, 55, has a career record of 817-604 and has been named coach of the year three times.
