Graham Cheers Southern Baptist Move

Evangelist Billy Graham, speaking against doctor’s orders, praised Southern Baptists on Thursday for their strong stand against racism and urged them to “let their light shine” to banish racism and injustice around the world.

“Only when we individually and as a corporate group renounce racism in all its forms and repent of all transgressions will God choose to use us to reach people around the world,” Graham told about 20,000 delegates during the final day of the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting.

“God help us to pull down the barriers that divide and cooperate to combat racism and injustice wherever they are found,” Graham said.
