Students Going Into Used Car Business For Day Central Valley High Business Club Will Rent Space For Sellers To Display Their Vehicles, Boats

They’re barely old enough to drive, but 20 students at Central Valley High School want to prove today that they’re old enough to sell cars.

Members of the school’s Future Business Leaders of America club, the students are staging an “Autorama” today in the CV High parking lot.

The club is inviting people who want to sell a car, truck, boat or RV to rent space in the parking lot and show off the vehicle to potential buyers. And, of course, they’re inviting anyone interested in acquiring such a vehicle to stop by and browse.

“We’ll sell everything. Boats, RVs, anything you can drive here,” FBLA adviser Jill Enevold said.

Enevold said loan officers from Washington Trust Bank will be there to handle financing and offer current auto market values.

Enevold said she’d like to fill the CV lot but isn’t making any predictions.

“The parking lot holds 500, but that’s big thinking,” she said. “It’s our first show, and we don’t know what to expect.”

Profits from the event will go toward sending three members of the CV High club to the national FBLA convention in Orlando, Fla., June 28 through July 4.

The “Autorama” runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If the car is looking a bit on the dingy side, don’t fret. Students will wash cars for donations starting at 8 a.m.
