18-Year-Old Arrested After His Car Hit Brother

Police arrested an 18-year-old man after he allegedly drove his car into his brother during an argument.

Jedidia Wright of Rathdrum was charged with aggravated battery on Monday.

Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies found his 20-year-old brother, Justin Wright, crying and bleeding at the intersection of 13th and Sherman Avenue in Coeur d’Alene at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday night.

Justin Wright told deputies that he and his brother got into a fight at a hotel their mother runs, the Lake Drive Motel.

Susan Bergon told sheriff’s officials that her two sons had been arguing in part because Justin Wright had been insulting her.

Jedidia and Justin Wright then went outside and started punching and hitting each other, according to the sheriff’s report.

Jedidia first sped away in his car but then returned to the hotel a short time later.

Witnesses told deputies that they saw Jedidia Wright put the car in reverse and then ram it full throttle into his brother.

The impact threw Justin Wright up into the car’s rear window, breaking the glass. He then landed inside the back seat of his brother’s car, according to the sheriff’s report.

The impact left cuts on Justin Wright’s leg, arm and hand.

Jedidia Wright was released on his own recognizance Monday evening.
