Forecast Not Good For Shuttle Launch

Compiled From Wire Services

The weather forecast was bleak for NASA’s third attempt in five days to launch space shuttle Atlantis on a flight to link up with the Russian space station Mir and bring home an American astronaut.

Thunderstorms reduced the chances of good weather for Tuesday’s 3:32 p.m. liftoff to 30 percent, NASA weather officer Ed Priselac said Monday. More bad weather was forecast for the rest of the week.
