Phillips Junior College Releases Spring Honor Lists

Scott Fitzpatrick, Spokane, has been awarded a $2,000 Bertha Morton Scholarship for the 1995-96 academic year in the anthropology department at the University of Montana. He maintained a 4.0 grade-point average during the past academic year and was awarded a teaching assistantship for the fall semester.

Fitzpatrick is a 1994 graduate of Eastern Washington University and a 1990 graduate of Mead Senior High School.

North Central High School economic students supported by the business community and Junior Achievement have won the business-simulation “Mese” program.

Cyndi Russell, Pete Bixby, Tom Nichols, Loren Waggy and Kelly Keck were each awarded a $50 savings bonds and taken to the Olive Garden for lunch by Brad Benson of Seafirst Bank.

Jan Romerdahl of U.S. Bank took Doni Nelson and Kayla Shawler to The Spokane Club for dinner.

Gary Lemoine, Christina Jow, April Robinson and Oliver Jones were treated to dinner at Luigi’s by Medical Service Corp. and Jeff Brittain.

Ben Nelson and Jay-T Hottinger of North Central High School participated in the Washington State Stock Market Games sponsored by Economics America. They placed second in the state’s eastern region and sixth out of 1,600 teams in the state.
