Nasa Bribery Case Ends In Mistrial

Compiled From Wire Services

Deadlocked jurors forced a mistrial Thursday in the federal bribery case of a former NASA contractor caught up in an FBI sting that was part of a 19-month probe of contract corruption.

Three days of deliberations ended with jurors locked 9-3 in favor of convicting 38-year-old Dale Brown for a $500 bribe his attorney says the government talked his client into making.

U.S. District Judge Ewing Werlein Jr. can still acquit Brown. If he is not acquitted, the U.S. Attorney’s office will consider whether to retry the case.
