Ticket Deadline Today

Compiled From Wire Services

If you don’t put your Olympics ticket order in the mail today, forget about a seat at any of the prime attractions such as gymnastics, swimming or the men’s basketball championship game.

Orders must be postmarked today to be included in the lottery to determine who receives seats to the events for which orders have outstripped the supply of tickets.

About one-third of the sessions for the Games are, in Olympic parlance, “oversubscribed.” Technically, they are not sold out - there is still a chance to get the tickets by entering the lottery.

After today, though, no more orders will be accepted for the overbooked sessions. Beginning Saturday, orders for the remaining tickets will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
