Injured Seahawk Gains
Mike Frier, the Seattle Seahawks tackle paralyzed from the waist down, can now grasp a pen and write without using a special wrist attachment.
Frier, 25, has been undergoing rehabilitation at the University of Washington Medical Center the past six weeks. He injured his spinal cord in a car crash involving three Seahawks players Dec. 1.
The center’s staff said Frier’s handwriting was becoming more legible and he is having an easier time feeding himself because of improved finger flexing and bending.
