A Spokane teenager was beaten unconscious on his way home from school Tuesday by two youths who tried to steal his sports jacket, police said.
The 15-year-old victim, whom authorities would not identify, was walking with a friend on the 4900 block of North Greenwood Boulevard about 3 p.m. when two teenagers stopped them. One demanded the 15-year-old’s jacket.
When the victim resisted, the two strangers beat him up. The teenager was taken to Deaconess Medical Center, where he underwent surgery for his injuries. He was listed in serious condition Wednesday.
The assailants were described as white, 15 to 16 years old. One was about 6 feet tall with dark hair worn long in back. The other was about five feet 10 inches tall with short blond hair.
