Three Students Achieve Eagle Scout Award

The following students have been awarded the rank of Eagle Scout.

Merrill Alley, is a junior at Mead High School and a member of Explorer Post 13. His Eagle project was to supervise gathering materials and building a fence at the entrance to Camp Clay (near Reflection Lake) to help prevent vandalism to the property. He is the son of Mike and Caryn Alley, Spokane.

Spencer Smith, is a junior at Mead High School and a member of Explorer Post 13. His Eagle project was to survey and replace damaged, missing and inadequate road signs in Riverside State Park. He is the son of Graig and Martha Smith.

Reed Wright, is an eighth-grader at East Valley High School and a member of Troop 425. His Eagle project was to construct a storage building for the pavilion at the Spokane East Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints. The son of Bob and Sherrel Wright, Otis Orchards, he is the fifth in his family to earn the Eagle Award.

Heather Carlisle, a senior physical education major at Gonzaga University, and Gay Clifford, a full-time community volunteer, were recognized for their efforts in athletics and academics by the Gonzaga Women’s Sports Connection.

Carlisle, Culbert, Mont., is in the Army ROTC program at GU and competes on the cross-country team.

Clifford, a former high jumper, graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in physical education. She once served on the U.S. Olympic Committee, is a former member of the board of trustees for the Spokane Symphony, and continues to volunteer with other organizations, including the Catholic Charities.

Town and Country Realty, Inc., Coeur d’Alene, recently announced its top agents for 1994:

Bob and Gwen Dreyer, highest sales volume; Gene Harding, most listings taken and most transactions closed; Tonda Barsuglia, quality service agent; Roland Mueller, referral agent; and Katie Bane, rookie agent.

Nancy Helmer of Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty in Coeur d’Alene was ranked the No. 1 Realtor in Idaho for December. She closed more business than any other agent in the state.

Kimberly Grandinetti, daughter of Robert and Beverly Grandinetti, Spokane, has been selected by the U.S. Air Force for a four-year medical school scholarship. She will enroll in the fall at Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine, through the Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program.

She was commissioned at McChord Air Force Base, Tacoma, into the Air Force Reserve as a second lieutenant. She is a 1994 graduate of the University of Washington.
