School Board Adopts New Policy Manual

After a year of policy workshops, the Coeur d’Alene School Board adopted a new 630-page policy manual earlier this week.

The manual contains more stringent discipline measures, tougher standards for pilot programs, and a mission statement that emphasizes academic excellence.

The board also listened to a presentation on Kids Voting USA, a citizenship program sponsored by the Coeur d’Alene Press and North Idaho Business Journal.

The program is designed to increase voter turnout by allowing children to vote on election day in their own mock election.
