Universities Release List Of Local Graduating Students

The following local students recently graduated from colleges outside of the Inland Northwest:

Valparaiso University, Ind.: Anne Brondos, Spokane.

Western Washington University, Bellingham: Adrianne Martinez and Sonja Wagner, both of East Wenatchee; Aaron Burtner and Fred Biebesheimer, both of Kennewick; Kevin Bush, Moses Lake; Douglas Hodgson, Omak; Michael Roberts, Pullman; Karen Schlosser, Richland; Amy Heskett, Jaree Spatz, Sharma Walker, Jason Warnick, Darren Peck and Lonnie Robarge, all of Spokane; Julie Nordheim, Stephanie Williams and Christy Waite, all of Walla Walla; and Zack Lodato, Wenatchee.

University of Indianapolis, Ind.: Lynn Aley, Spokane.

University of Northern Colorado, Greeley: Alan Coelho, Spokane.

Donald Hurst, has been promoted from trooper to sergeant with the Washington State Patrol and assigned to Detachment 7 in Kennewick.

Robert Dirks and Jude Battista, both Lewis and Clark High School students, recently ranked third in the nation in a mathematics competition.

The Northwest Mathematics Championships were recently held in Blaine, Wash. The LC math team currently ranks second nationally in the Math League Press competition, said Gregg Sampson, math coach.

The competition results are as follows: Dirks, second in 11th- and 12th-grade division.

Beth Pierce, 15th in the 10th-grade division.

Nadav Tanners, 12th in the ninthgrade division.

The team of Dirks, Jason Munning, Justin Munning and Katherine Winner, fifth in group problem-solving events for 11th- and 12th-graders.

The team of Pierce, Tanners, Sean Ahern and Spencer Piston, fifth in group problem-solving events for ninth- and 10th-graders.

Armande Aller was recently installed as president of the Meeting House Hill Chapter of Colonial Dames 17th Century.

Other officers installed for twoyear terms were: Betty Weilep, first vice president and recording secretary; Bonita Daniel, chaplain; Jackie Furman, treasurer; Irene Berg, second vice president and registrar; and Anne Homans, historian and librarian.

Jeff Snell, Spokane, has been inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society at Boston University. The son of Edna Snell and a 1991 graduate of Mead High School is a senior majoring in math education.
