Damon Stoudamire scored 26 points and No. 12 Arizona bounced back after letting a 20-point lead get away in the second half for a 63-54 Pac-10 men’s basketball victory over Washington on Saturday night in Seattle.

The NCAA Tournament-bound Wildcats (13-4 Pac-10, 23-6) took a 28-8 lead in the game’s first 14 minutes as the Huskies (4-12, 8-17) missed 16 of their first 18 shots.

Stoudamire, the Pac-10’s leading scorer, scored 15 of his points in the second half and finished with a 10-for-18 shooting night, including 5 of 8 3-point attempts.

Ahead 31-19 at halftime, Arizona was outscored 18-3 in the first 6 minutes of the second half and Washington led 37-34 before Stoudamire went on a 3-point shooting rampage.

The 5-foot-11 senior connected on three long 3-pointers in a 3-minute span to put the Wildcats ahead 45-41 with 10-1/2 minutes remaining.

Arizona, losers of three of its last four games to Washington in Seattle, was ahead only 47-45 when Ben Davis scored on a put-back following an offensive rebound, Stoudamire made his longest 3-pointer - a 26-footer - and Joe McLean scored on a layup for a 54-45 Wildcats’ lead with 6:03 left.

Oregon 89, (20) Stanford 80

At Eugene, Ore., Orlando Williams scored 25 points, including 5 of 6 free throws in the final 1:35, as the Ducks enhanced their chances for their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 34 years by holding off the Cardinal.

Kenya Wilkins added 21 points and made 9 of 10 free throws down the stretch for the Ducks.

Oregon (10-6 Pac-10, 18-7) sank 18 of 20 free throws in the final 6 minutes to thwart a late rally by Stanford (8-8, 17-8) and move within a half-game of third-place Arizona State in the Pac-10.

Brevin Knight scored 23 points and Tim Young had 17 points and a career-high 17 rebounds for the Cardinal.

Stanford was swept on the road by the two Oregon schools and has lost five of seven to drop into sixth place in the Pac-10, putting its NCAA hopes in serious jeopardy.
