Sun., March 5, 1995, midnight

Russia and the International Monetary Fund have reached agreement on a $6.3 billion loan and will finalize its details in talks next week, a top government official said Saturday.

Economics Minister Yevgeny Yasin said the agreement came Friday night in negotiations held in Paris between Russian Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin and IMF managing director Michel Camdessus.

The first installment of the loan is expected to reach Russia in April, Yasin told the Interfax news agency.

Camdessus, Yasin said, will travel to Moscow next week “to coordinate certain details” of the loan scheme.
