Spokane Man Dies While Driving On I-90

A Spokane man died Friday when he had a fatal heart attack while driving on I-90 during rush hour, the Washington State Patrol reported.

George Gabel, 74, was eastbound at 5:35 p.m., just east of the Broadway overpass, when he lost control of the vehicle. The car ran into the concrete barrier and came to a stop, receiving only minor damage.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Gabel was taken to Valley Hospital and Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
