Police Arrest Man After Cocaine Found

From Staff Reports

Spokane police arrested a 20-year-old man early Monday after finding cocaine in the car he was riding in with his mother.

Kenneth A. Burland, who gave his address as 3018 E. Everett, gave police a different name when he was stopped about 3:30 a.m. in Hillyard.

Police suspected he had given a false name and questioned the woman who was driving the car. Geraldine Voykin, 39, told police she thought his name was Mike.

When police determined the suspect was Burland, they also learned Voykin was his mother.

Burland was booked into the Spokane County Jail for possession of a controlled substance. His mother was cited for driving with a suspended license.
