Chris LeDoux best part of concert

Re: Chris LeDoux/Mark Chesnutt concert.

I agree wholeheartedly with the concert review that was in the paper. I believe it was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to, second only to the Garth Brooks concert down in Pullman a few years ago. Chris LeDoux should be brought back every weekend to play here in Spokane. He is the best entertainer I have ever seen in my life. Mark Chesnutt was a big letdown, and only saved his show by allowing the crowd to come up to the stage during his encore. Other than that, he was really impersonable and not quite as much fun to watch as Chris LeDoux.

I do appreciate especially the fact that you did talk about his song “Copenhagen.” It’s the only song he sang that he hasn’t published on his new Liberty albums, his most recent five. It is the most popular song at any of his concerts. Even people who never heard any of his songs before Garth Brooks mentioned his name loved the song “Copenhagen” because it’s a rip-roaring fun song that damn near any cowboy can get into.

Western concerts getting to be too loud

Re: Mark Chesnutt concert.

My husband and I go to most of the western concerts, but the volume of these things is slowly driving away the older fans of the music. We’ve got tickets for Alan Jackson, too, but when we sit there and our bones and skin vibrate, we don’t enjoy the concert anymore. Why doesn’t somebody say something about that? Maybe some of the soundmen will take notes. Janice Harthorn Spokane

Mark Chestnutt a pleasure to listen to

I wonder if the reviewer attended the function. The acoustics the artists are subjected to are poor in the Coliseum, as you know. Chris LeDoux ‘s performance, was that of acid rock or country music? The bells, the whistles, the explosions. However Mark Chesnutt got up there and performed, no screaming, yelling, explosions, car wrecks, AmTrak derailments, etc. It was a well-done country-western concert. I would have listened to him for any amount of time. It’s amazing how people perceive these. Maybe the reviewer’s young. Hank Simms Valley
