Xavier Players Arrested
Two Xavier University basketball players were arrested early after a fight at a bar.
Pete Sears, 21, a senior swingman from Cleveland, was charged with assault. DeWaun Rose, 22, a senior forward from Chicago, was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Both were arraigned in Hamilton County Municipal Court, where their cases were continued until Tuesday.
Rose posted $1,500 bond and was released from the Hamilton County Justice Center. Sears was released from jail later in the day on a $1,000 bond.
Xavier will learn Sunday if it receives an at-large NCAA tournament berth.
