Aids Network Hopes To Bring Return Of Quilt To Spokane

The Spokane AIDS Network is striving to bring the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt back to Spokane. But it needs volunteers to form a host committee.

Anyone interested should attend an informational meeting on Tuesday from 6:30-8 p.m. at the West Central Community Center, 1603 N. Belt.

The AIDS Memorial Quilt was last displayed in Spokane during the fall of 1993.

Auditions

Auditions for “A Streetcar Named Desire” will be held Monday for women and Tuesday for men at the Lake City Playhouse, 14th and Garden in Coeur d’Alene.

The play, which runs from May 26 through June 11, calls for six men and six women.

The Cutter Theatre in Metaline Falls is looking for actors and directors for the musical comedy “Once Upon a Mattress,” which will run on three weekends in July, August and September. Rehearsals begin in June. Call (509) 446-4108 for information.

Cartoon-style paintings

Laurie Ann Fondiler, an artist of national note, will display her satirical, cartoon-styled paintings in the lobby of the Spokane Civic Theatre., 1020 N. Howard, from Thursday through April 30.

Earthy Art

To honor Earth Day, the Spokane Art School will present Spring Break Workshops April 3-7 at the art school.

Kids from age 4 to seniors in high school are welcome to attend the workshops.
