Environmental Group To Sponsor Meeting
Experts will explain Thursday how landowners can use special easements or gifts to conserve open space, wetlands and other environmentally sensitive areas.
The Kootenai Environmental Alliance will sponsor the public meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Panhandle National Forests supervisor’s office on Kathleen Avenue.
Three panelists will explain how people can reap tax and other advantages and protect the environment at the same time, said alliance president George Brabb.
Brabb stressed that people needn’t be millionaires to gain those advantages.
“You do, however, need to know what you are doing,” he said.
Panelists will be Mark Elsbree of the Nature Conservancy, Fritz Rennebaum of the Bureau of Land Management, and Bob Chatters, an accountant and tax manager.
