House Of Memories The Coliseum (1954-1995)

The Spokane Coliseum opened in December, 1954 to rave reviews.

When it comes down next month to make room for the city’s new Veterans Memorial Arena, the region it served for four decades will have reason to pause.

The building in its glory was a star. Life magazine once cited the Coliseum for its “dazzling efficient modern equipment equalled by few other halls on earth.”
