Cat Survives 14 Days In Moving Van

Associated Press

Curiousity didn’t kill the cat this time.

T.C. short for Tara’s Cat, survived without food and water for 14 days inside a moving van.

Owner Joe Fuller an Army medic, said he and his wife Terri thought the 2-year-old cat had run away shortly before they left Louisiana with their daughter Tara on March 1.

As they began unpacking their belongings Friday, they heard a meow and found the cat in a waterbed headboard cabinet that was shipped west with the rest of their furniture in a moving van Feb. 25.

“She was scared,” Fuller said. “Her pupils were dilated and her eyes were huge.”

Fuller said the cat went from 18 pounds to 9 pounds and survived temperatures in the 20s during part of the trip.

Now T.C. is back to regular feed ings, but there’s a new hangup.

Fuller signed a one-year lease on a duplex thinking the family wouldn’t have a pet.

“I thought I had lost my cat,” he said. “Now we have to get a pet deposit or if not, maybe find a good home that will adopt her.”
