Impostor Escapes With Store’s Receipts

Compiled From Wire Services

A man wearing a Wells Fargostyle uniform, bulletproof vest and holstered pistol walked into a Wal-Mart store to collect the day’s receipts and walked off with thousands of dollars before anyone realized he was an impostor.

“They did not suspect anything unusual until another Wells Fargo guy showed up at 5 p.m.,” sheriff’s spokesman Rick Hord said Monday.

Workers called Wells Fargo Armored Service Corp., which confirmed the second man was an employee. By then, the first man had a two-hour head start.

No immediate arrests were made. Neither the store nor the Sheriff’s Department said exactly how much was taken in cash and checks.
