Public Invited To Meeting On Changing Child Care Rules

From Staff Reports

Child-care providers and parents are invited to help change the rules in Idaho’s Child Care Program in a series of meetings across the state.

The first meeting will be in Coeur d’Alene at 7 p.m. March 21 and 23 at the Harding Family Center, 411 N. 15th St.

Staff from the Department of Health and Welfare are in the “Negotiated Rule Making” process, which is designed to change the rules to make the program more efficient.

The state-sponsored child care program helps lowincome working families cover the cost of child care. The rules up for discussion include eligibility for the program, which providers can participate and how payments are made.
