At a glance

Two teams playing well get a final look at each other prior to the playoffs. Tri-City is 15-6-2 in its last 23 games and 7-3-2 on the road in its last dozen. Americans, who’ve wrapped up fourth place and have a chance to double last year’s win total of 19, will play without winger Byron Briske and center Dorian Anneck, both out with knee injuries. Anneck is gone for the season. Tough guy Rob Butz is questionable, also with a knee. Left wing Marc Stephan is expected to return. Since coming down in a trade with Prince George, Boikov is a plus-16, meaning the Americans have scored 16 more goals than they’ve allowed while he’s on the ice. Chiefs’ Daniel continues to flirt with club record for saves percentage. He’s at .900. Scott Bailey’s club record is .895. Podollan is looking for career goal No. 107, which would put him alone at No. 6 on the Chiefs’ all-time list. Defenseman Adam Magarrell has established himself as a steadying influence on the back end after coming down from the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Bryan McCabe trade.
