Mead Man Arrested After Marijuana Found In Car

A 35-year-old Mead man was arrested Wednesday after Washington State Patrol troopers found 150 grams of marijuana in his car.

Guy Jones was booked into the Spokane County Jail for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. He remained there Wednesday. No bail was set and he was slated to go before a judge today.

Sgt. Lee Boling stopped Jones at Argonne and Mission about 8 a.m. for speeding. Boling found that Jones, who had a suspended license, was carrying several bags of marijuana in his pockets.

More packaged pot was found under the car seats, along with $253 in cash. Police estimate the marijuana’s street value at $1,500 to $1,800.

In Washington, possession of more than 40 grams of a controlled substance is a felony.
