Self-Adhesive Stamps Sticking Around
The post office will nearly triple its production of the increasingly popular peel-and-stick stamps this year.
Some 6.8 billion of the stamps that don’t need to be moistened will be issued, up from 2.4 billion last year, said Azeezaly Jaffer, manager of stamp services.
“We are responding to popular demand,” said Jaffer.
The first self-adhesive stamp this year was the Love stamp booklet issued Feb. 1. Others will include a flag stamp, one depicting fruits, a pink rose and the contemporary Christmas stamp next winter.
