Arson Ruled Out In Rose Lake Fire

From Staff And Wire Reports

Although police are still investigating a fire that destroyed a North Idaho home, they have ruled out arson, Kootenai County Sheriff’s officials said.

The blaze destroyed Barb DeHart’s Rose Lake home Monday morning.

Firefighters did not respond to put out the blaze because DeHart does not live in a fire district. None of the four people who lived in the house three miles south of Interstate 90 was injured. The family dog was killed.

Sheriff’s Lt. Ben Wolfinger said investigators are still looking into the exact cause of the fire but believe it may have started in the clothes dryer.
