Seniors Can Try College For A Day Through Workshops At Scc

Ward Sanderson Correspondent

If you’re a senior citizen who typically has Mondays free, you’re in luck. While it won’t get you a diploma, “Go to College For a Day” will provide lots to do and see next Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Spokane Community College. Hurry, though: The last day to register is today.

The workshops, held in SCC’s Lair student center, will range from an examination of American ideology with political science professor Paul Tesch to a look at Inland Northwest history with Cheney Cowles Museum program director Larry Schoonover.

Other topics range from art and health to grandparents raising grandchildren. There will also be health screenings throughout the day, and opportunities to try yoga, tai chi, low-impact aerobics, clogging, and ballroom and line dancing.

Registration costs $10, which includes a box lunch. To register, call 533-3769.
