Andrus, who served four terms as governor between 1970 and 1994, must be approved by Coeur d’Alene Mines shareholders at their May 9 annual meeting.
Andrus serves on the boards of Albertson’s Inc. and NuWest Industries Inc. He also is a member of the Gallatin Group, a Boise consulting firm.
“Governor Andrus brings to the Coeur board of directors not only a wealth of experience as a public servant, but he also played a key role in the economic revitalization of Idaho … ,” said Dennis E. Wheeler, chairman and chief executive of Coeur d’Alene Mines.
Andrus also served as the Secretary of the Interior during the Carter Administration.
