Andrus To Join Cda Mines Board

Coeur d’Alene Mines Corp. Tuesday nominated former Idaho Gov. Cecil Andrus to its board of directors.

Andrus, who served four terms as governor between 1970 and 1994, must be approved by Coeur d’Alene Mines shareholders at their May 9 annual meeting.

Andrus serves on the boards of Albertson’s Inc. and NuWest Industries Inc. He also is a member of the Gallatin Group, a Boise consulting firm.

“Governor Andrus brings to the Coeur board of directors not only a wealth of experience as a public servant, but he also played a key role in the economic revitalization of Idaho … ,” said Dennis E. Wheeler, chairman and chief executive of Coeur d’Alene Mines.

Andrus also served as the Secretary of the Interior during the Carter Administration.
