Rain Slows I-90 Construction

Rain is slowing construction of a detour route for a resurfacing project on Interstate 90 in Spokane.

A contractor is setting up temporary lanes for eastbound and westbound traffic on I-90 from Maple Street to the Medical Lake interchange.

Rain prevented paving of a temporary roadway to carry detour traffic from one side of the freeway to the other.

Detours are expected to begin by the end of the week. When the temporary road is completed, the contractor will begin demolition of the pavement in the eastbound lanes as the first step in repaving that part of the freeway.
