Trojans Likely To Rehire Parker

All indications are that Charlie Parker, USC’s interim basketball coach, will be given permanent status by athletic director Mike Garrett in the next few days.

Garrett offered Parker a oneyear contract last week, according to a USC source, with an additional year at the school’s option.

The contract is thought to be worth $150,000 per year. The athletic department also is paying off the remainder of ex-coach George Raveling’s contract.
