Trains are fine, but whistle blasts aren’t

I am in agreement with Karen Buck concerning train whistles (Valley Voice guest column, March 16).

We do need them, but not those long noisy blasts.

We have lived within two blocks of the tracks for over 50 years.

The tracks were here before we were. The trains don’t bother us, but those long “blasts” do. Leone Thies Spokane
