Clinton Ready For Physical Exam Today

Associated Press

Feeling generally fit, President Clinton is getting the customary once-over from his doctors.

The president had a morning appointment today at Bethesda Naval Medical Center in suburban Maryland for his annual physical exam. White House press secretary Mike McCurry said Thursday the president had no particular health concerns he wanted to raise.

“He’s feeling good,” McCurry said. “I can’t say he’s looking forward to his physical because I doubt he is. Who would be? But it’s an annual deal and he’ll go and endure it.”

Clinton’s doctor, Connie Mariano, advised him to forgo jogging this morning to prepare for the examination, aides said.

Last year’s physical found Clinton in excellent health.
