Mrs. Fields Plans Foreign Expansion
Mrs. Fields Cookies on Thursday announced plans to triple its foreign stores by opening more than 100 outlets abroad in the next five years.
The company will open the stores in Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, Canada and the Middle East, said Debbie Fields, founder and chairwoman of the company.
Other areas targeted for expansion are South America and Europe, she added.
Currently, 5 percent of the Utah-based cookie retailer’s 617 stores are outside the United States.
