Mortgage Rates Fall To 8.4 Percent

From Staff And Wire Reports

Defying predictions, mortgage interest rates have fallen - to 8.4 percent for a 30-year, fixed-rate loan this week - and are expected to stay about at that level or rise only slightly in the coming months.

This decline, about threequarters of a percentage point since early January, could boost home sales this year above levels that builders and economists expected.
