Two Arrested In Case Of Smuggling Uranium
Two people, including a Prague police officer, have been arrested for allegedly helping to smuggle 6 pounds of top-grade Russian uranium.
Police refused to confirm the arrests, but an Interior Ministry official told the CTK news agency Friday that a Czech policeman and another person had been detained.
The men were arrested Wednesday, the newspaper Mlada Fronta Dnes reported Saturday, citing unnamed police sources.
On Dec. 14, police arrested a Czech nuclear physicist and two men from Russia and Belarus after finding two metal containers of highly enriched uranium in their car.
