United Way Jurors Still Without Verdict

Compiled From Wire Services

Jurors in the federal fraud trial of former United Way leader William Aramony concluded a second day of deliberations Monday without a verdict.

Aramony and two former top aides are accused of looting the charity of about $600,000 to pay for luxury vacations and other perks.

Aramony, 67, used much of the money to finance a four-year affair with a woman who was 17 when they met in 1986, prosecutors said.

Jurors were to return to work Tuesday. They began deliberations Friday, taking with them about 1,000 documents.
