Mariners Get Past Oakland, 7-6

Julio Peguero had three hits and drove in two runs as the Seattle Mariners defeated the Oakland Athletics 7-6 Wednesday in exhibition baseball.

Peguero had an RBI single in a four-run Seattle third that also included run-scoring doubles by Johnny Cardenas and Manny Cora and an RBI triple by Craig Bryant.

The Mariners added three runs in the fifth on RBI singles by John Tejcek and Terrel Hansen and a run-scoring groundout by Peguero.

The A’s, who had just four hits, got three runs in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Doug Saunders and a two-run bloop single by Ken Shamburg. Saunders has 28 RBIs this spring.

The Mariners made three errors, and have 49 in 26 games this spring.
