Scott Buys Local Franchise Affiliate

The Bellevue-based parent corporation of John L. Scott Real Estate took over the interests of the Spokane franchise affiliate March 17, said J. Lennox Scott, president of John L. Scott, Inc.

The Spokane office, 1500 W. Fourth Ave., was formerly Quality Group Citywide. Quality’s 51 sales associates will all remain with the company.

“When it came up for sale … we decided to buy it because of the great sales and service, and because it’s a district hub for us. It was part of our strategic plan,” Scott said Wednesday.

As part of a corporate expansion, John L. Scott hopes to add new offices in Spokane, including one in the Valley and one on the North Side. The company, which operates an office in Sandpoint, is also looking to tap into the Coeur d’Alene market.

John L. Scott, founded in 1931, has 78 offices and more than 2,100 sales associates in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. By the end of the year, the company hopes to open 20 new branch and affiliate offices.
