Liske Interviews For Virginia Job

University of Idaho athletic director Pete Liske interviewed for the University of Virginia’s vacant A.D. job on Monday, UI sources said.

Liske met with Virginia president John Casteen, apparently in California. A member of Casteen’s family said Casteen was in California and due back on Friday.

Liske is reportedly one of four finalists. The others are Davidson A.D. Terry Holland, Arizona State A.D. Charles Harris and Virginia interim A.D. Craig Littlepage. It’s believed Tulane A.D. Kevin White is no longer involved in the search.

Liske couldn’t be reached for comment.

Chris Zenner, who has been regional development director for the Idaho athletic department in Coeur d’Alene the last six months, will move to Boise later this month in the same capacity to replace Rance Pugmire, who has accepted a fund-raising position at Utah State.

Washington State head coach Kevin Eastman filled the final spot on his coaching staff with Scott Duncan, an assistant from Northern Illinois University.

“Scott is a guy I have known for quite a while,” said Eastman, who was an assistant at Colorado State (1980-83) while Duncan was at New Mexico. “I have observed his work and have been very impressed with his results. He’s always been in winning programs and top-rated recruiting classes.”
