It’s National Astronomy Day

Spokane Astronomical Society members will demonstrate telescopes and discuss astronomy Saturday at Franklin Park Mall.

The daylong event coincides with national astronomy day. Local amateur astronomers will answer questions and demonstrate a variety of telescopes, said member Chuck Cheselka.

Some scopes on hand will have solar filters for daytime viewing of the sun. Other astronomy displays will be presented as well. Demonstration hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
