Juli-Anne Jordan Spokane

Memorial service for Juli-Anne Jordan, 40, is set for 11 a.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. There will be private inurnment.

Miss Jordan died Tuesday. She was born in Redding, Calif.

She graduated from high school in Reno, Nev., and moved to Spokane from Reno in 1976.

She graduated from Spokane Community College and worked at Supercuts as a hairdresser for five years.

She is survived by her parents, Pat and Evelyn Jordan of Spokane; two brothers, Glen Irwin of Anchorage, Alaska, and Michael Irwin of Redding, Calif.

Gertrude Pitt Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Service for Gertrude A. Pitt, 89, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at United Medthodist Church in Bonners Ferry. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pitt, who was born in Croy, Ore., died Tuesday.

She was an elementary school teacher and began teaching in Sherman County, Ore..

She and her husband, Dallas Pitt, had operated a bakery in Tekoa, Wash., and lived in the Yukon Territory.

In 1944 they settled on the Moyie River south of Addie, Idaho. She began teaching again in 1951 and her husband died in 1956.

She retired from teaching in 1962 and moved to Bonners Ferry in 1979.

She taught 4-H and Sunday school, was a member of the Pythian Sisters and the Retired Teachers Association. She also worked with the American Cancer Society.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening and traveling.

There are no surviving family members.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Hall School Library and the Community Restorium.

Helen Dillon Spokane

Memorial service for Helen K. Dillon, 77, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Airway Heights First Baptist Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dillon, a 62-year Spokane resident, died Tuesday.

She was born in Whitman County, Washington.

Mrs. Dillon was a bookkeeper in her husband’s accounting firm, Dillon Accounting.

She was a member of Hillyard Congregational Church.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Dillon; three sons, James and William Dillon, both of Spokane, and Richard Dillon of Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter, Susan Skidmore of Harrison, Idaho; one sister, Hallie Stelzig of Santa Maria, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two greatgranddaughters.

Fred Meddock Bonners Ferry

Service for Fred Lewis Meddock, 84, is set for 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Bonners Ferry. Inurnment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Meddock was born in Copeland, Idaho. He died Tuesday.

As a young man, he drove for the A.C. White Lumber Co., the Bonners Ferry Lumber Co., and did log-scaling for the Diamond Match Co., Kelson’s and Hedlund Lumber Co. He retired from log-scaling in the 1970s and began working for the Boundary County School District.

He spent time hunting and fishing, including ice-fishing.

His wife, Bessie, died in 1977.

He is survived by two daughters, Judy Everhart of Bonners Ferry, and Bonnie Nieman of Sandpoint; three sons, Dan Meddock of Portland, Gary Meddock of Bonners Ferry, and Rick Meddock of Mead; one step-daughter, Betty Owens of Florence, Mont.; 21 grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren.

Blaine Berg Pullman

Service for Blaine Robert Berg, 31, will be at 1 p.m. today at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman.

Mr. Berg drowned April 7 while fishing at the Snake River. His body was recovered Monday.

He was born in Pullman and graduated from Pullman High School.

Following high school he worked at Pullman Convalescent Center and at Washington State University. He also drove a taxi.

Most recently he worked at Allen’s Drive-In in Colfax as a cook.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Cindy Jo Berg; one daughter, Bambi and one son, Tory, both at home; his parents, Robert and Lavonne Berg of Pullman; one brother, Danial Berg of Spokane, and his grandparents, Edwell and Blanche Berg of Davenport, Wash.

Helen Chandler Spokane

No service will be held for Caroline Helen Chandler, 92.

Born in Germany, she had lived in Spokane for 85 years and was a homemaker.

Her husband, Dearl Chandler, died in 1972.

Herbert Young Spokane

Service for Herbert L. “Herbie” Young, 57, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ball Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial will be at Interment Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Young died Tuesday.

He was born in Independence, Kan.

He had lived in Spokane for 22 years and worked at Kaiser Trentwood as a fireman pourer and retired in 1994.

He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and United Steelworkers Union Local 338.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Sharon Young; two daughters, Tanya Hollins of Puyallup, Wash., and Shari Shadwick of Waco, Texas; one sister, Marquerite Coffey of Los Angeles; one brother, Ben Young of Independence, and four grandchildren.
