Intel, At&T; Join Interactive Venture

From Staff And Wire Reports

Intel Corp. and AT&T Network Systems said they will team up with a small Cupertino, Calif., firm to deliver interactive communications to homes at rates 1,000 times faster than today’s computer modems.

Hybrid Networks Inc., the companies said Thursday, will supply key ideas and the technology that make it possible to deliver a wide array of interactive services.

A key piece is Hybrid Network’s adapter known as “cable modem,” which can connect a computer to a cable-TV outlet or high-speed telephone line.
