From Staff Reports

Six people were taken to the hospital after a head-on collision east of Post Falls on Saturday afternoon.

No one was seriously injured.

Aleksander A. Sipko, 22, was headed east on Interstate 90 about noon when he lost control of his white Honda. He crossed the median and hit a westbound car driven by Shannon L. Hayward, 36, of Coeur d’Alene.

Sipko and his three passengers, all of Spokane, were taken to Kootenai Medical Center, as were Hayward and her 10-year-old daughter, Toba, a passenger in her car.

In Sipko’s car were: Luba Senchenko, 15, Vera Senchenko, 13, and Irena Senchenko, 18.

Everyone except Sipko was treated and released at KMC. Sipko is in fair condition.

Both Haywards wore seat belts. No one in Sipko’s car wore one.
