Ford Unveils Plans For 16 New Models

Ford Motor Co. has plans for 16 new or redesigned car and truck models in the next five years as it continues to trim the time and money needed to develop new products, Chairman Alex Trotman said Thursday.

“We are reducing the time required to develop a new vehicle from 36 months to 24 months,” Trotman said.

Some of the 16 models will replace vehicles in the company’s 32 existing programs, while some will be new.
