Junior Lilac Parade Saturday

The Junior Lilac Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in downtown Spokane.

Many downtown streets will be closed starting about 9 a.m. The parade should last nearly two hours.

Organizers call the event, which kicks off the Lilac Festival week, the largest children’s parade in the country.

About 7,000 children from throughout the Northwest, including Montana and Canada, will participate.

The parade begins at Spokane Falls Boulevard and Washington and winds through downtown on Main, Stevens, Wall and Post.
